I published a new version of the gallery component (1.0.0-alpha.8) some days ago. I fixed a some issues and the gallery should now run more stable. Please find below the list of improvements.

  • fixed an issue with the backing removal code
  • fixed a routing issue
  • fixed lazy loading issue
  • refactored to use native Joomla cache for thumbnails and preview images
  • the protection of the images with a htaccess file is now optional

The Simple Image Slider plugin for Joomla 3 is, as the name implies, a simple image slider.

Some days ago I published the first alpha version of an image server. The image server is implemented in the Go programming language and is intended to deliver dynamically resized images.

The source code of the project is available at GitHub.

I published a simple implementation of the FTPS protocol some days ago. The reason for the implementation was, that I have not found a library which provided the protocol I needed for another project. In the current version not the full specification is implemented, but the subset with the most import functions.

You will find the project on GitHub.

The new version of the gallery component for Joomla (1.0.0-alpha.7) is now compatible with Joomla 3.

Today I published a first module for the gallery component. The module provides a simple navigation for the gallery. It provides the buttons "Previous Folder", "One Layer Up" and "Next Folder". This allows a smooth navigation like in a file browser. The current version is 1.0.0-beta.

Today I released the sixth alpha version of the gallery extension for Joomla. In the new version two major bugs were fixed:

  1. It is not longer necessary to modify the Joomla core htaccess file.
  2. The lightbox does now work also if search engine friendly URLs are disabled.

Today I published a small standalone PHP contact form script which is able to send PGP encrypted emails to a predefined email address. The script is for example useful for webmasters who regularly receive credentials from their clients. In my experience many webmaster do this over an unencrypted channel like email. With the script it is possible to allow clients with no technical skills to send encrypted emails.

You will find information about the script an this page.

The source code is available on GitHub.

Until now the gallery component was only available for Joomla 2.5. But Kay Olutayo sent me an updated version for Joomla 3.x last week. I published this version on the gallery details page. Please feel free to download and use it.

The Gallery component for Joomla 2.5 is now available in the new version 1.0.0-alpha.4. There are some improvements and bug fixes in the new version. The most notable new feature is the support for name converter plugins. With name converter plugins it is possible to modify the displayed folder name on the fly. It is thus for example possible to use the date in the folder name, but don't display it.

The Joomla Gallery source code is now available on GitHub. I have decided to publish the component on GitHub, because it is easier for everyone to contribute something to the project and I do not have to maintain the infrastructure, what otherwise would take a lot of time.

Today I have released a new version of my gallery extension for Joomla 2.5. In this version I have implemented multiple new features, like for example support for lazy loading of the images or better support for the tracking of clicks in the lightbox with Piwik.

I have also changed the license of the component from GPL to AGPL, tweaked the performance and did some refactoring.
