G'day folks,

I am new to Joomla and I am working on a web site for a friend's classic car collection. I have installed RD-Autos single dealer module and now the RD-Autos Universal Module. I now need to adapt these modules to an existing design (currently a Photoshop layout). How would I go about customizing the appearance of the RD-Autos Universal Module? Is there a search function somewhere that would allow the user to search for a particular car in the collection, and if none is found, an email/form is sent to the site owner expressing an interesting in finding such a car?

I have attached an image showing what I would like to accomplish, the indicated areas work as follows:

Area 1 - The database needs to contain cars that are both for sale and not for sale. This area would show 4-6 random vehicles from the for sale subset of the database. Underneath each vehicle would be a button to click for vehicle details.

Area 2 - This area would show our feature vehicle for the week, one vehicle selected from the for sale subset once again.

Area 3 - This would be a search form that serves two purposes, to find vehicles from our collection of vehicles, and to allow us to keep track of what our visitors are looking for.

Thanks in advance.

Hey,

I just provide the RD-Autos Universal Module. This is what you need for "area 1". To customize it you just have to edit the template files in the module folder.

The hole component you can get directly by RD-Media (www.rd-media.org). There is also a support forum available.

I think a search function like in area 3 is available in the (non-free) pro version of RD-Autos.

I don't know if there is already a featured auto module, but i think it's easy to develop. If you like to have such a module and don't need it for free you can contact me per mail.

If you are really new to Joomla it would be hard to build a professional site like the one on the screenshot... If you are familiar with CSS, HTML and PHP it should be a possible job, but otherwise you should search a professional...

Hope this helps.
Best regards
Marco

What I did was I used your module for area 1, with across layout and customization. For area 2, I used your module again, with default layout, and only 1 vehicle. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to define a "featured" vehicle using this module although the RD module does have a "featured" flag.

How would one go about changing the background colour behind text? I can't seem to change it from white. If you look at the attached, the description below the featured item is black on white but I need it to be the site default colour on black.

Oops, I found out what was causing the white background, it was inserted when I created the text for some reason. Problem solved.

However, I am still looking for a means to show only vehicles that have their "featured" flag set, as opposed to "Last added", "Last updated", "Most viewed" etc. Is this possible?
